Thermodynamics constrains interpretations of quantum mechanics

The interpretation of quantum mechanics is one of the longest standing debates in physics. The main difference is the degree to which an observer effects the observed system. Many scientists accept the view that such a decision could only be made through metaphysical judgement. However, an international team of scientists suggest that thermodynamics could be the key deciding factor.
