A New Spin on the Quantum Brain
Non-trivial quantum mechanical phenomena, such as quantum tunneling and entanglement, have been observed in a number of processes in the biological system. This has led many researchers to begin to address the question of quantum biology in a more comprehensive manner. Here, Quanta Magazine reports on a new theory in which the nuclear spins of phosphorus atoms are suggested to serve as rudimentary qubits in the brain.
